Why having a newsletter or blog on your website benefits your business
If you are planning on launching a newsletter or a blog on your website or a blog on your blog you need to understand that there is a big difference between just having a blog on your website and actually getting people to visit your site.
What it comes down to is this; are you going to have visitors that are actually going to come to your website from your blog or newsletter? And if so how will you know this?
The simple answer is you will know this by how many people you can actually convert from a blog or newsletter into a website visitor or website lead.
Let me explain why this is important for you; if your blogger is only getting a handful of visitors per week or even each day than it will be pretty hard to convert these visitors into website leads or website subscribers or website buyers.
Now the next question you need to be asking yourself is how can I actually get people to come to my website from my blog.
The answer for this is simple; I will use an example for you; assume I have a website that has my name, address, email and a small blurb about me and my area of expertise and my company called “John Smith & Son”.
What it comes down to is this; there are 3 main ways people can find this website;
1. Search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing etc.
2. Blogs
3. Existing customers
Now you may be thinking well this doesn’t have any presence on any of these sites.
Your site is only visible on Google so how did I know it had any presence on Yahoo?
Simple, from your search history you can click on the words “John Smith” and then from the drop down menu select “Blog”. Now you can see on your history it shows you how many times you have used that word in your blog and also how popular the word is.
Now you may be thinking well this doesn’t tell me how many times people have actually found my website through searches.
Your site is only visible on Google so how did I know this had any presence on Bing?
From your search history you can click on the words “John Smith” again and select “Search Engines”. Now you can see on your history it shows you how many times you have used that word in your search engines.
Well you can’t see this information directly because there is a button that hides the data and this button is hidden and hidden data.
Another thing you need to think about is how you can link your website to another website. If someone has visited your site and it was linked to another website then they will see your link to the other website and they will click on the link and this will bring them to the hidden data.
Now the point I’m making is that with a little bit of effort you can find out a lot about your competitors. You can also find out how your customers are finding your website.
